Steps to follow to request the service

First:- Process steps

A:- Registration of Non-Omani Employee (First Time and Renewal)
Royal Oman Police (ROP) currently issues Residency Cards to non Omani residents which contain labour card details. Therefore the MoMP no longer issues labour cards. MoMP continues to update expatriate employees’ details into their MoMP computer system and synchronizes the data to the ROP’s (National Registry System) NRS computer system to personalize and issue the Residency Card.
Processes:
  1. Obtain Card Request Form from an Accredited Typing Office. The Accredited Typing Office completes the form with the provided details then prints the form for a fee. For information on fees and a list of Accredited Typing Offices contact the SANAD Project Program at +968 24 815685.
  2. Authorized Representative submits Card Request Form attached with the supporting documents to MoMP service counter.
  3. Application is processed; permit is issued and sent to the Bank Counter.
  4. Authorized Representative pays fees of (RO 200) at the Bank Counter. Permit is stamped and given to the Authorized Representative.

B:-Updating Status (Renew Permit details) for Non-Omani Employee (First Time and Renewal).
Processes:
  1. Obtain Notification of Employee Date Modification from an Accredited Typing Office. The Accredited Typing Office completes the form with the provided details then prints the form for a fee. For information on fees and a list of Accredited Typing Offices contact the SANAD Project Program at +968 24 815685.
  2. Authorized Representative submits Notification of Employee Data Modification attached with the supporting documents to MoMP service counter.
  3. Application is processed; permit is issued and sent to the Bank Counter.
  4. Authorized Representative pays fees of (RO 5) at the Bank Counter. Permit is stamped and given to the Authorized Representative.

C:- Updating Status for Non-Omani Employee in Cases of Transfer of Sponsorship
Processes:
  1. Obtain Card Request Form and Sponsorship Transfer Form from an Accredited Typing Office. The Accredited Typing Office completes the form with the provided details then prints the form for a fee. For information on fees and a list of Accredited Typing Offices contact the SANAD Project Program at +968 24 815685.
  2. Authorized Representative submits Card Request Form and Sponsorship Transfer Form attached with the supporting documents to MoMP service counter.
  3. Application is processed; permit is issued and sent to the Bank Counter.
  4. Authorized Representative pays fees of (RO 5) at the Bank Counter. Permit is stamped and given to the Authorized Representative.

  • Form of Updating Status
  • Form of Issuing a Labour Card
  • Labour Card

What documents are needed to process

A:-Registration of Non-Omani Employee (First Time and Renewal)
Supporting Documents:
  • Original Passport of the expatriate employee.
  • Permit to import expatriate employee (obtained from MoMP).
  • Residency Card (in case of renewals)
  • Original and copy of lease contract or the ownership of real estate (obtained from Ministry of Regional Municipalities, Environment and Water Resources or Ministry of Housing, Electricity and Water). Applicable for restaurants, cafés, workshops, and other retail outlets.
  • Original and copy of Municipality licence (obtained from Ministry of Regional Municipalities, Environment and Water Resources). Applicable to restaurants, cafés, workshops, and other retail outlets.
  • Driver must present Motor Vehicle Licence (obtained from ROP).

B:-Updating Status (Renew Permit details) for Non-Omani Employee (First Time and Renewal)
Supporting Documents:
  • Education Certificates approved by Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the origin country

C:-Updating Status for Non-Omani Employee in Cases of Transfer of Sponsorship
Supporting Documents:
  • Passport of the concerned employee.
  • Employee Residency Card.
